ICD-10-CM Changes for FY2027

Upcoming — effective October 1, 2026

The FY2027 ICD-10-CM update, effective October 1, 2026, adds 150 codes (126 billable), deletes 6, and subdivides 15 previously billable codes into 44 more specific replacement codes. Headline additions include C78.31 (secondary malignant neoplasm of larynx), E89.830 (post bariatric hypoglycemia), F64.A (gender identity disorder, in remission), QA1.71 (Lynch syndrome), and M04.3 (VEXAS syndrome), plus the subdivision of I42.0 (dilated cardiomyopathy) by etiology.

These codes are not billable before October 1, 2026. The FY2027 code set applies to dates of service from October 1, 2026 through September 30, 2027. Until then, continue using the FY2026 code set.
